A SleepTools playbook
Land sharp on day one.
The 7-Day Jet Lag Plan Kit. One page for your time zone, three nights before you fly to three days after you land. Built from the SleepTools jet lag calculator.

Who it is for
- You have a flight booked across four or more time zones and a first day you cannot afford to lose: a meeting, a wedding, the first day of the holiday you paid for.
- You have used the calculator and want the rest: what to do on nights two, three and four, what to do at 3 am, and what to do on the way home.
- You want to print it, tick the boxes and pack it. Or read it on a tablet on the plane.
The problem, and what is inside for it
- Landing day goes fine and night two falls apart. The countdown pages are built around nights two to four, which is where most trips are lost, not arrival day.
- You do not know how many hours to shift, or which way, once the date line is involved. The date line page and the route tables give the hours, the direction and the page number for the common routes, in both seasons.
- You do not have three spare evenings to pre-shift. Every plan page has a no-prep version on the back, and the quickstart covers flying in the next 24 hours.
- Awake at 3 am in the hotel with nothing to tell you what to do. Eight rescue cards, indexed by situation, readable in the dark.
- The return trip is worse than the trip out and nobody plans it. A whole chapter for the flight home, with the one rule the trip out did not need.
- You have to perform on landing day. The Land and Perform page: the plane, the morning, the room, and what to do after.
Look inside
A plan spread, a countdown day and the rescue cards: the three things the free calculator does not give you.

What you get
- The plan library: 21 pages, 2 to 11 hours east and west plus a twelve-hour page, every number from the same engine as the calculator.
- Find your page: a route index with page numbers, and a date line page for Asia, Australia and the Pacific.
- The countdown: Day -3 to Day +3 plus the flight, one page a day, fill-in boxes for your numbers and a line for what you noticed.
- Your trip, filled in: two pages keyed to the calculator's fields, outbound and return.
- The flight home chapter.
- Five extras: 3am Rescue Cards, Land and Perform, Book the right flight, the Red-eye and multi-leg worksheet, the Suitcase card with the whole method on one page.
- A before-and-after score so you can see whether it worked.
- US Letter and A4 editions, to print or read on a tablet. A phone edition is coming as a free update to everyone who has bought.
What it is not
Not medical advice, not a promise of zero jet lag, and not an app. It is a plan for habits, timing and light. Melatonin is covered for timing only, with no doses and no brands. If you have a sleep disorder or a health condition, talk to a doctor before changing your routine.
Every plan page assumes a dark room, a quiet room and bright light at the right hour. The kit sells none of it. What we would pack is on the sleep gear page.
Five honest questions
- I can use the free calculator. Why pay?
- You can, and it gives the correct times. It does not tell you what to do on the second and third nights, what to do at 3 am, how to handle a connection, or how to plan the way home. That is the book. If your trip is under three nights, do not buy it: the book itself says stay on home time.
- Is this just a generic ebook?
- It is built from the calculator's engine, so every time on every page is computed, not written. The text is short, there is a route index with page numbers, and the sample pages above show exactly what you get.
- I fly across the date line. Does it cover that?
- Yes. The date line page explains why no shift is more than twelve hours and gives a table of the common routes to Asia, Australia and the Pacific, with the hours, direction and page number for both seasons.
- Does it cover melatonin?
- Timing only. It says rules differ by country and tells you to ask a pharmacist or doctor. No doses, no brands, no links.
- What if it does not work for me?
- Some people take longer than the plan says, and the book says so. If it did not help, email hello@sleeptools.co within 30 days for a refund. No form, no questions.
The phone edition, and what comes after
The phone edition is being built now and goes free to everyone who has bought. After that we are considering a version that puts every light window, bedtime and caffeine cutoff straight into your calendar with reminders. Leave your email and you hear about it once, when there is something to see.
Not sure yet? The free jet lag calculator gives you the times for your route. The kit is for everything the calculator cannot fit on one screen.
